Williams - our new director!
WHO: Lisa Williams
WHAT: Front Line Director, Venetian Harmony Chorus,
Certified Director of Sweet Adelines International,
Former Assistant Director, Toast of Tampa Show Chorus,
Voice Part: Currently Bass and Lead,
but also loves Baritone
WHERE: Lisa, who was born in NJ, has lived in Florida for almost
30 years. She resides in Clearwater with her 14 year old Daughter,
Cassi, who plays saxophone with the Tarpon Springs High School
Leadership and Music Conservatory, as well as, a member of the High School's
Culinary Institute. Lisa works for Macy's Fine Jewelry full time.
WHEN: Being a musician for all of her life, Lisa was a
professional drummer in a top 40 dance band, sang and played in gospel
praise bands at various churches, and gives private vocal lessons. In 1998,
Lisa was asked to visit one of her friend's Sweet Adelines
Chorus, the Harmony Harbor Chorus, in Palm Harbor, under the direction of
Denise Helbig. After one visit, She was hooked on
Barbershop! By 2002, she had switched memberships to the Toast of Tampa Show
Chorus, under Master Director, Joe Connelly.
Joe allowed Lisa to become an Assistant Director and
mentored her while she studied for her Director's Certification.
During all this time, Lisa was in 3 Quartets, singing Lead: Twilite Zone,
Sensation and SPLASH! They consistently placed in the top 10 at Region 9's
Yearly Competitions. In 2007, Venetian Harmony Chorus auditioned and
contracted Lisa to become their new Front Line Director. AND SO BEGINS
